The Etihad Rail Dubai Metro link is now open, letting passengers move between the UAE’s national railway and Dubai’s Red Line on a single integrated ticket.
The new 375-metre bridge connects Dubai Al Yalayis Station with Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station and takes about five minutes to walk. It follows the official launch of Etihad Rail’s national passenger network and gives intercity services a direct interchange with Dubai’s urban transport system.
How the single ticket works
Travellers combining the two networks can buy their whole journey in one transaction through Nol integration. A single QR-code ticket is valid on both the national railway and Dubai Metro, and can be booked through the Etihad Rail mobile app, its website or ticket machines at stations.
Each network keeps its own travel rules and requirements, so passengers are advised to check the conditions for both before travelling.
Using the Etihad Rail Dubai Metro link
Passengers arriving at Al Yalayis can cross the bridge to reach Metro services across the city, while those starting in Dubai can reach the national rail network through Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station. Signage and wayfinding have been installed along the route.
What officials said about the Etihad Rail Dubai Metro link

He said the work continues under the guidance of Etihad Rail Chairman Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Abdul Muhsen Kalbat, CEO of the Rail Agency at Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), called the connection a significant step towards an integrated transport system across the UAE, linking intercity rail with urban mobility in Dubai, and said it would also support Dubai’s growth.
