Dubai Residential Sale Price Index, 2011 to May 2024

How to read these Dubai real estate transactions
The dashboard splits every day into two groups. Existing properties are homes and other units that have already been built, so they usually change hands as resales or first sales of ready units. Off-plan properties are units sold by developers before completion. Comparing the two shows whether buyers favour ready homes or new projects.
Each tab covers a different type of registration. Sales show the worth of property sale transactions. Mortgages show the value of loans registered against properties. Gifts show properties transferred without a sale, for example between family members. All values are in UAE dirhams, and each bar adds existing and off-plan together.
What the latest DLD figures show
Sales were strongest on 12 October, when the DLD recorded about AED 2.88 billion across existing and off-plan properties. On 19 October, sales reached AED 1.71 billion, up 58.8% on 16 October, with off-plan properties accounting for slightly more than half of the day.
Mortgages are driven almost entirely by existing properties. On 19 October, off-plan mortgages were only AED 40.01 million out of AED 520.91 million. Gifts behave differently: on 9 October, off-plan gifts reached AED 235.56 million, far above the usual level for that group.
